☀️ June 2026 Newsletter☀️

Happy June, Philly!

School is wrapping up, the Phillies are heating up, and summer is officially around the corner. Whether you’re planning backyard BBQs, weekends down the shore, or just trying to stay cool in the city – June is one of my favorite times of year in Philadelphia.

As temperatures rise, unfortunately, so do energy bills. This month I’m sharing practical ways to lower your PECO bill, where to find free pools around the city, and a few luxurious ways to beat the heat when you deserve a little staycation!

As always, thank you for continuing to support my business, referring your friends & family, and trusting Shqiponja Likaj Realty with your real estate needs. Your support means everything.

💡 How to Lower Your PECO Bill This Summer

Air conditioning can account for a large portion of summer electric bills, but a few small changes can make a big difference.

1. Set Your Thermostat Smarter

Instead of turning your AC completely off when you’re away, raise the temperature a few degrees. Smart thermostats can automate this and help reduce energy usage. Experts recommend avoiding extreme temperature swings that force your system to work overtime. (The Wall Street Journal)

2. Replace Your Air Filters

Dirty filters make your HVAC system work harder and consume more electricity. Check filters monthly throughout the summer and replace them as needed. (MyFTPUpload)

3. Close Your Blinds During Peak Sun

Keeping blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day can significantly reduce indoor temperatures and help your AC run more efficiently. (The Department of Energy’s Energy.gov)

4. Use Ceiling Fans

Fans use far less energy than air conditioning. Combined with a slightly higher thermostat setting, they can keep rooms comfortable while lowering cooling costs. (Better Homes & Gardens)

5. Avoid Heat-Producing Appliances During the Day

Try grilling outdoors, using your microwave, or running your dishwasher and dryer in the evening when temperatures drop. (Better Homes & Gardens)

6. Seal Drafts and Air Leaks

Small gaps around windows and doors allow cool air to escape. Simple weatherstripping and caulking can help your home stay cooler and more efficient. (MyFTPUpload)

• Exploring neighborhoods you’ve had your eye on

I’d be happy to talk through your options and create a plan that fits your goals.
